BIOFUEL
In addition to stable procurement of coal to ensure supplies for coal-fired thermal power, which is expected to remain a major source of energy in Japan going forward, our company also offers biofuels, which are a potential source of long-term stable energy supply, to contribute to achieving the government’s energy mix goal by 2030 (biomass power generation ratio of 3.7–4.6%). We procure palm kernel shells (PKS) from Indonesia and Malaysia, and wood pellets from Vietnam, Malaysia, and Australia. As a prerequisite for initiating these procurements, we obtained chain of custody (CoC) forest certifications for the processing and distribution of forest products.
